Which viruses and bacteria will the Tri-Air technology destroy?

Most pathogens can be killed readily in air but more slowly on surfaces. The rate of kill varies with the pathogen. Viruses will succumb quickly, Mycobacteria such as TB take much longer, but will eventually be destroyed. Hydroxyl radicals are not selective, but most beneficial bacteria are immune to hydroxyl radicals.

Does the process kill viruses and bacteria on surfaces?

Yes. It takes longer than the kill of airborne contaminants because of the complexities of surfaces, and the time it takes for the condensation effect of the Hydroxyl Radicals to take hold. Testing at the UK Health Protection Agency showed a 99.9999% kill of MRSA on glass surface within 24 hours, and a 99.99% kill of MRSA on steel surface within 48 hours. The device runs continuously in the background, killing contaminants within the air, and continually killing contaminants on surfaces, thereby providing 24 / 7 protection.

What's the proof that the Tri-Air technology works?

The technology has been in development for over 20 years, and during this time there has been exhaustive testing by 3rd parties, with tests being conducted since 2006 at the UK Governments Health Protection Agency (HPA) Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response (CEPR) at Porton Down. For access to test reports see Resources More…

Is the Tri-Air technology unique?

It is a unique combination of tried and tested technology. The components and their synergistic mode of action were discovered over many years of research and development by the inventor and Tri-Air Developments Director, Alan Mole. Tri-Air Developments have patented the technology around the world.

Can the technology protect against the pathogens & toxins as might be used in a chemical / biological attack?

The technological processes used within the Tri-Air technology have been shown to destroy nerve agents. The technology could be adapted to perform in this application.

Is it Safe?

The system relies upon a natural process found in the chemistry of the atmosphere – hydroxyl radicals. The system produces 1/1000th of the concentration of hydroxyl radicals found in natural fresh air as verified by the UK Governments Health & Safety Laboratory.

Hydroxyl radicals are a major component of fresh air, being constantly replenished by a multitude of powerful atmospheric reactions. They exist for only milliseconds, therefore are not generally found in indoor air, where no generation source is found. Human beings and all higher animals have developed as organisms to cope perfectly well with high levels of hydroxyl radicals in the air that we breathe. The Tri-Air technology ensures a sufficiency of hydroxyl radicals in indoor air so as to provide a barrier to the continued existence of many bacterial and viral pathogens.

In addition, Tri-Air Developments has extensively used scientific and air quality testing expertise provided by BRE (Building Research Establishment) to understand, characterise and develop the technology into a number of product applications.

Surely if it kills bacteria and viruses so efficiently, it will damage human tissue?

Hydroxyl radicals are among a group of strong oxidisers found ubiquitously in fresh, outdoor air. Human beings and higher animals produce an enzyme, superoxide dismutase, which neutralizes oxidising species. It is present from the nasal mucosa, throughout the nasal pharynges, the lung tissue, and even into the aorta and pulmonary arteries. The levels of hydroxyl radicals produced in the daylight of summer exceed by up to 1000 times the population of hydroxyl radicals emitted by the Tri-Air Developments technology.

What products are available?

In 2010, Tri-Air Developments will oversee the launch of a series of products by companies licensed to use the Tri-Air technology to markets around the world. The technology can be readily adapted to suit products suitable for hotels, homes, offices, hospitals, schools and airports, in fact anywhere people meet and conduct their daily lives.

Tri-Air Developments has a number of licence discussions in place, which will see Products being presented to people around the world from globally recognized Brands. The first Products will be launched to leisure establishments, e.g. hotels, casino’s, cruise liners and resorts, around the world. See Partners for More…

If my organization is interested in licensing the Tri-Air technology what should I do?

Tri-Air Developments encourages approaches from interested companies. In the first instance, please use the resources of this website to further understand the technology and opportunity, and then either register to attend an upcoming invitee-only launch event (More…) or make direct contact via the website (More…). Please note all approaches are treated in strictest confidence.
